About us
Hej, vi är familjen Ryberg-Ericsson. 2015 bestämde vi oss för att odla mer änspannmål och vall. Det blev äpplen också, tusentals.
Organic craft apple and cider mill with our own orchards
We who run Köpings Musteri AB are the Ryberg-Ericsson family. Lena, Johanna and Benjamin. Of course there are more hands to help in season when we pick our lovely fruit from the trees in Sweden's first organic orchard in Berg, Hallstahammar
All our fruit and berries become beverages that then reach restaurants in large parts of the country. Our trees are like vines because from part of the must we ferment an apple wine which is traditionally called cider. It contains nothing but the natural flavour of the fruit when the fruit sugar is completely consumed by the fermentation process
It is dry, exciting and goes wonderfully with cheeses, seafood and charcuterie, among other things.
Where dreams are woven
The Ryberg-Ericsson family's dream was to make drinks from Swedish raw materials and have the organic (KRAV) farm of 35 ha support its owners
Small farms like ours account for, among other things, a large part of biological diversity. Apple growing and viticulture are important contributors to carbon sinks because of the perennial unbroken grass areas and crops that are not only perennial but sometimes stand for several generations. Organic fruit is in short supply in Sweden and drinks made from organic fruit are a good way to get added value in an otherwise hard-pressed market
Sustainable - economic, ecological and social is our motto.
Our pickers are mostly local and regional sports associations whose important activities we are happy to support
In 2015, we planted apple trees on part of our farm in Munktorp, Köping
In 2016, we expanded with an existing KRAV-certified orchard with apples, pears and plums. Sweden's first organic fruit farm in Berg, Hallstahammar
In total, we now have about 10 ha of land with fruit and berries. All harvest goes to our beverage production. All drinks can be tasted in one of our tasting experineces on the farm
With a passion for drinks!
The craft goes through the whole chain in our production. From the trees, harvest, sorting and gentle manufacturing for the tastiest juices in Sweden:
All fruits, berries and herbs used to make drinks arrive at the distillery in Rasgärde hela. We do not use concentrates or pre-processed additives. All non-alcoholic drinks are completely pure and have no added sugar or chemical agents
In Bergs Äppelgård, many varieties are grown that are not usually grown commercially in Sweden. In total, we have around 20 different varieties each year that are refined into varietal drinks.
Great commitment to environmental issues
Through openness and commitment to environmental issues, we must create trust in our operations among customers, owners, employees, the public and authorities. Environmental issues must obviously be incorporated into all parts of our operations
We who work on the farm
The farm has thousands of organic fruit trees and our daily focus is high quality juices and ciders.
Lena Ryberg Ericsson
Lena Ryberg-Ericsson is CEO of Köpings Musteri AB. All chores have to be taken care of - from changing the hydraulic hoses on the cutter to administration and salaries. (If it's too big and difficult, you can always ask the younger generation who are a little stronger and a little faster) It can sometimes feel overwhelming. Lucky that the working environment in the plantation is so beautiful and tranquil
Johanna Ryberg
Johanna Ryberg works with everything in the company. Her specialty is taste and blending.. (And moving apple bins with a bad old tractor in tight and awkward spaces) She mixes ciders of different apple types, tastes the must and holds interesting tastings. When she has time off, she will be found riding dressage on one of her or someone else's horses or trainging her Vorsteh for hunting
Benjamin Ryberg
Benjamin works with everything in the company. The picking in the autumn is led by him and he has a firm eye on the warehouse. He meets new and old customers, so if you have a cafe or restaurant, contact him and he will bring drinks for you to try to see what we have right now that fits your menu. He is a time optimist, which can be frustrating for those around him, but he solves all problems with great calmness.
Anders Ericsson
Anders Ericsson was born on the farm in Rasgärde. Anders works on weekdays at the Household Association in Västerås. There he deals with crop cultivation experiments, mainly on field crops. His knowledge of plant cultivation and calm in stressful situations is probably the company's main lifeline (and sometimes Lena's worst stress trigger)
